The sport's governing body confirmed the news in a short statement released minutes before the lights went out to start the 2022 race at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps.

"Formula 1 can confirm that the Belgian Grand Prix will be on the 2023 calendar following an agreement to extend our partnership together.”

“Further details on the 2023 calendar will be announced in due course."

Spa keeps its spot on the calendar just days after F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali confirmed that the French Grand Prix would be dropped.

Space on the calendar is increasingly limited, with new races in Las Vegas and Qatar to take place next year.

Domenicali told media that the sport is working on a rotational calendar to maintain a presence in France, per RaceFans.
