Turkey was originally on the schedule for 2021 but removed due to international travel restrictions.

Formula 1 said the promoter had requested to re-join the calendar later in the season, if possible, which became a reality once the Singaporean outing was cancelled.

It comes as part of a raft of circuit changes in 2021, including the cancellation of the Chinese Grand Prix and rescheduling the Australian Grand Prix.

President and CEO of Formula 1, Stefano Domenicali, said "we are delighted to be coming back to Turkey to Intercity Istanbul Park circuit."

"We hope to see another fantastic race again in one of the best tracks in the world."
