Mansell qualified seventh for the F3 weekend at the track he made his UK racing debut, just two tenths of a second off the front row.

He started the first race sixth due to penalties further up the grid, and initially slipped down the order on the opening lap.

He was able to pass Tom Lebbon on the final lap to regain the position, crossing the line in sixth and finishing fifth in the order after post-race penalties.

He started eighth for the first race on Sunday, holding the position at the start before taking advantage of an incident ahead to move up into seventh.

Mansell finished sixth once post-race penalties were applied.

The 17 year-old started eleventh on the reverse-grid for Race 3, falling down the order on the opening lap, but back up into eleventh by the end of lap six.

He crossed the line ninth in the action-packed race, finishing sixth in the final order after penalties were once again applied to other drivers.

“I’m pretty happy with the weekend overall," said Mansell.

"It’s my most consistent one of the season so far and after not quite qualifying as high as hoped, I’m pleased to have been able to move forward in every race for some solid results."

The consistent results promoted the Newcastle native to fourth in the championship standings, as the only driver to finish every race so far in the season.

“All three races were very close fought and quite chaotic at points, so it’s good to pick up three finishes and a good haul of points."

"The Carlin car is quick, so I’m feeling confident heading into the next rounds that we can be up there battling at the sharp end.”

The BRDC British F3 championship returns July 24-25 at Spa, where Mansell raced earlier this year in the Euroformula Open series.
