Macau GP drops Formula 3 due to travel concerns, Chinese F4 to race in its place
The 2020 Macau Grand Prix will go ahead - but without Formula 3 - as the Chinese Formula 4 field takes its place due to COVID-19 concerns.

The Macau Grand Prix Organizing Committee (MGPOC) has announced that the 2020 event will take place from 19-22 November, but with significant changes in place due to the global pandemic.
Headline event, the Formula Macau Grand Prix, while normally contested by the FIA Formula 3 paddock under the title of the “FIA Formula 3 World Cup”, will be downgraded to a Formula 4 event contested by the Chinese Formula 4 field.
All categories will be limited to encourage a majority of drivers from local regions, namely “Mainland China, the Asian region, Hong Kong and Macao”.
International competitors will face strict COVID-19 regulations, having to test negative to COVID-19 before entering Macau and then undergoing a 14-day quarantine. They will have to clear another test for the virus to be declared fit to join the race, while also following a range of other measures.
