The prize is a continuation of the existing Honda sponsorship of the American series, to continue for at least two more years.

The Formula Regional Americas (FRAC) champion will receive a scholarship of up to $600,000 USD ($836,940 AUD) plus an engine supply agreement for an entry in the following year's Super Formula Series.

Additionally, the Formula 4 United States champion will receive $25,000 USD ($34,872 AUD) cash plus a Honda motor for a future FRAC entry.

"This scholarship program is truly a global driver development opportunity and Honda-powered path to the top levels of racing" says John Whiteman, Honda Performance Development Commercial Manager.

"The Formula Regional Americas champion earns 18 FIA Super License points, and the Super Formula champion earns 25."

"In addition to preparing a driver to compete in the pinnacle levels of motorsports, winning both titles will earn a driver enough Super License points to exceed the 40 required for Formula One."

The FRAC and F4 US seasons begin April 8-10 at NOLA Motorsports Park in Louisiana.
