Daniel Ricciardo, Lewis Hamilton, and Zhou Guanyu were all under investigation for breaching Article 8.6.1.a) of the FIA International Sporting Code by not lining up correctly in their grid boxes at the start of the sprint race.

Following an investigation by the stewards, all three have been cleared of further penalty.

The stewards “noted that the grid boxes were slightly smaller than usual.”

They added “the drivers’ visibility makes compliance extremely difficult and that no driver was in a position that gained any advantage.”

With all three maintaining their position, Hamilton will start on the front row of the grid alongside teammate George Russell, with Ricciardo starting eleventh and Zhou in thirteenth.

The Formula 1 Sao Paulo Grand Prix gets underway 5am on Monday (AEDT).
