Eggleston joins Team BRM, who will run two cars. AGI Sport are yet to confirm their spot in the series but ran drivers Luis Leeds and John Martin in last week’s driver test and evaluation day.

Brown was a standout in his open-wheel days, taking out the 2016 Australian Formula 4 Championship while coming second in the Australian Formula Ford Championship. That year, he also took out the Toyota 86 Series victory.

“It’s such a thrill to be confirmed to start in the first-ever S5000 race at Sandown,” said Will Brown.

“I’ve been watching these cars doing demonstrations at the TCR events this year and I’ve been hanging off the fence, keen to have a drive.

“They sound awesome, they look great and they are so fast. These cars are going to be amazing at Sandown and we are going to be doing our best to be at the front of the field and enjoy the experience.

The Toowoomban currently leads the TCR Australia series and is ninth in the Super2 Series. He will also co-drive with Anton De Pasquale in the Supercars endurance races later this year.

Matt Baird, Director of the Australian Racing Group, said “it is very exciting to see the S5000 field now start to take shape, with a great mix of drivers from around the world, headlined by Rubens Barrichello.”

“We know that Sandown is going to be one of those events that is going to be remembered for a long time.”
