Trent Grubel sweeps Australian Formula 3 at The Bend
Trent Grubel has taken a clean sweep of the Australian Formula 3 round at The Bend, claiming pole position and victory in all three races.
The Tim Macrow Racing driver led all three races from the start after taking pole position on Saturday morning in unbeatable form at the front of the field
Noah Sands took second in the opener before stalling at the start of race two, recovering to third.
The top order was restored with the finale on Sunday afternoon when Sands finished second yet again to secure second overall for the round.
Ryan Astley was third in the opener, but it was Mitchell Neilson who starred on Sunday, fighting his way from the rear to second in race two, and completing the race three podium after completing the first lap in eighth.
Grubel now takes the lead of the series standings on 88 points ahead of Sands on 72 points.
The Australian Formula 3 championship returns 10-12 June at Winton.
