Training injury takes Aiva Anagnostiadis out of F1 Academy
The Australian F1 Academy driver sustained a fracture in her left foot during training.
SYDNEY ā Australian F1 Academy driver Aiva Anagnostiadis will miss the Singapore Grand Prix after sustaining an injury while training.
The 18-year-old Melburnian said she suffered a fracture in her left foot and will be ready to return for in-season testing in Bahrain.
"While Iām gutted to miss such an iconic event, my focus now is on rehab and recovery so I can come back even stronger," said Anagnostiadis.
The TAG Heuer driver is 15th in the standings with season-high eighth-place finishes at the Chinese and Canadian Grands Prix.
"Everyone at F1 Academy, TAG Heuer and Hitech TGR wishes Aiva a speedy recovery," read a statement from F1 Academy.
British driver Megan Bruce will take over the TAG Heuer Hitech TGR car for Singapore while Anagnostiadis is injured.
She is currently contesting her second year in the GB4 Championship and finished in the top four for both rookie sessions at the F1 Academy test in Navarra.
