Sargent had wrapped up the title in Winton but left nothing on the track at Phillip Island, wining all three races to claim the championship by 97 points ahead of CHE stablemate Noah Sands.

The driver from Young, New South Wales, will test a Dick Johnson Racing Mustang Supercar next year at Queensland Raceway before heading to the Porsche Michelin Cup.

Sands will receive a coaching day at Norwell Motorplex, while third-place Cody Burcher will receive a racing gear package from Freem Racewear.

Series organisers Formula Ford Australia celebrated the fact that drivers have been able to finish a competitive season amid COVID interruptions.

"It’s been a long and tumultuous two years since we crowned our last Australian Formula Ford Champion at the end of 2019, but we are now more ready than ever for more a huge season of Formula Ford racing in 2022!"
