Tim Macrow sets early Tasman Series pace with pole in Sydney
Tim Macrow has qualified on pole position for the S5000 Tasman Series opener in Sydney.
The two-time Gold Star winner set his fastest lap on the fifth attempt with a time of 1:25.91.
The top four were separated by less than an tenth of a second and the margin for pole was razor-thin, with Macrow beating Luis Leeds to the top spot by just 0.064 seconds.
The result earns Macrow 10 points towards the Tasman Series championship.
The S5000 Tasman Series resumes on Saturday with race one set to begin at 2.10pm AEDT.
