Record attendance on Friday at Australian Grand Prix

A record number of fans flowed through the gates of the Australian Grand Prix on Friday as Formula One took to the track for free practice.

Day two of the Formula 1 event saw an estimated attendance of 124,113, according to organisers.

It is the highest crowd number for Friday at the event and just over a thousand higher than the same day last year.
