PREMA Racing has troubled FIA Formula 3 weekend start at Silverstone

PREMA Racing had an up-and-down qualifying day at Silverstone, as the FIA Formula 3 Championship got underway at the British venue for round six of 2023.

Paul Aron was the leading PREMA driver in P6. The Estonian was in contention for top-3 all day but couldn't maximize the lap in the end.

British racer Zak O'Sullivan had a more challenging qualifying run as he dropped back to P15 late in the session and lost the chance for a reverse-grid start.

Unfortunately, Dino Beganovic couldn't set a single lap time as he suffered from an engine issue while in his first lap. The Swede will be forced to start from the back of the pack twice this weekend and like O'Sullivan, hopes for a bold recovery.

Paul Aron

Qualified: P6 / Fastest Lap: 1:45.945

"Mixed feelings from the qualifying session, as we finished in P6. It was a bit tough out there as every lap we had a different feeling in the car, but I think the potential was not bad, and we were fighting still for the front the whole qualifying. It was just a shame for the end not to have the tyres in fully for the last flying lap, which cost us top-3 I think. However, P6 is not bad for the qualifying that we had as we didn't have the pace for pole position. We are still in the mix for the races, and if we do a good job, we can still bring home really good points."

Dino Beganovic

Qualified: P30 / Fastest Lap: 2:45.962

"It's a shame, we had a great pace in free practice, and it felt really good initially, but the engine had an issue on my first push lap. It will be about damage limitation this weekend, trying to recover some positions and hopefully grab some points in both races."

Zak O’Sullivan

Qualified: P15 / Fastest Lap: 1:46.332

"We ended up P15 in qualifying. We are not really sure about what went wrong, but we got some time tonight to try to look at the data and look at what we can improve for the future. It's not the result we wanted, we'll see if we can make some ground in the races.”
