MELBOURNE–Teams in the FIA Formula 2 championship are hopeful that series organisers have fixed mechanical issues that led to random power cuts to cars during running on Friday at the Australian Grand Prix.

A senior team official, not authorised to speak publicly due to contractual arrangements in the single-make series, told raceweek he was aware of "no issues" during a shakedown run on Saturday morning at Albert Park.

The representative confirmed his team had previously experienced the sporadic shutdowns while running on track on Friday.

Series promoters had confirmed the power cuts had been spread across "several cars."

Trident driver Sami Meguetounif escaped penalty for diving into the pit lane while experiencing the issue, while Campos Racing driver Arvid Lindblad also confirmed his experience with a "technical software issue" on Instagram. The youngest driver in the field said it "resulted in power loss and cost us whilst in the fight for pole."

A fifteen-minute session on Saturday morning was added for teams to test their solution on their cars while using non-race parts such as tyres, planks, and brake discs to minimise wear.
