SPIELBERG–Red Bull junior Nikola Tsolov was promoted to the podium places of the FIA Formula 3 sprint race at the team's home track after competitor Ugo Ugochukwu was penalised for passing him off track.

The McLaren junior was found to have gone off the track to make the move for third, despite having been left sufficient room in the corner by the defending Tsolov.

The 10-second time penalty imposed on the Prema Racing driver drops him from third and the team's first podium of the season, down to 16th in the congested field.

AIX Racing’s James Hedley was also disqualified from the results for entering parc fermé after the race to reattach his steering wheel, while DAMS Lucas Oil driver Christian Ho was given a five-place grid penalty for the feature race for contact with another driver.
