The 2024 champion will receive ten points, with seven points for vice-champion and five points for third.

Fourth in the standings will earn three points, with one point for the firth-placed driver.

The series will also introduce Wild Card entries “to help strengthen the talent pool in the regions in which the series races.”

PREMA Racing, who took out the inaugural teams’ and drivers’ title in 2023 with Marta Garcia, will operate the Wild Card car in addition to their three-car line-up.

The F1 Academy sporting regulations have also been updated to introduce a two-year limit on entries in the series to encourage progression and make room for new drivers.

“After a positive inaugural season we are making two significant steps forward for 2024,” said managing director Susie Wolff.

“Our top five drivers receiving FIA Super Licence points is testament to the strength of F1 Academy’s on track proposition and will help fuel their progression as they move up the single seater pyramid.”

“The introduction of the Wild Card entrants will promote regional talent, engage with local communities, and increase the talent pool in the regions in which we race which will be important for our long-term growth and ensure we are creating even more opportunities for women to get involved in our sport.”

The seven-round series will this year run entirely in support of the Formula 1 calendar, with racing to begin at the Saudi Arabia grand prix in March.

This year all ten F1 teams will provide a driver and livery for at least one car on each team.
