Aston Martin protests Austrian Grand Prix results asking for more track-limits penalties

Aston Martin has lodged a protest against the provisional results of the Austrian Grand Prix, claiming that a number of cars deserved further penalties for track-limits violations.

The stewards have also noted at a number of deleted laps monitored by race control which were not referred to the stewards and have asked for “a reconciliation of all deleted laps with penalties applied.”

Aston Martin has claimed that “a number of cars were not penalized for a breach of Article 33.3 of the Sporting Regulations,” with Article 33.3 being the section of the rulebook relating to track limits.

An Aston Martin representative has been summoned to the stewards to discuss further, while the stewards have noted “that Race Control dealt with in excess of 100 deleted laps during the race.”

Aston Martin drivers Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll finished sixth and tenth respectively in the provisional results.
