Albert Park quirk could be "a real marker" for Formula 1 championship
Albert Park is home to a statistical milestone in the Formula 1 championship, according to Sky Sports F1 commentator David Croft.

Speaking ahead of the Australian Grand Prix, Croft was keen to talk up the statistical quirk of the Albert Park circuit.
"I know there's a long, long way to go in the season, but every time on all eight occasions that a team has finished 1-2 in Melbourne, that team's always gone on to win both championships that year."
"So this could be a real marker for the championship, statistically."
The quirk was far more ominous in seasons where Albert Park was the opening round of the championship.
This year, it may well be Red Bull who earn that record on Sunday after dominating the season so far.
"Red Bull have got the car that every driver I'm sure would love to be sat in at this moment."

With the grand prix just days away, Croft has his bags packed and is ready to fly to Australia first thing on Monday morning.
"I'm looking forward to getting into Albert Park meeting a whole load of Australian F1 fans because they're a brilliant bunch and we get recognised everywhere we go because it's our coverage obviously on Fox and on Kayo."
"Every time a wheel turns, you can see our coverage and you can hear our coverage and I think that's brilliant, and we've made a lot of friends as a result of that."
Croft will line up in the commentary box for Sky Sports F1, with coverage available in 4K Ultra HD on Foxtel or streaming on Kayo Sports.
Jess Yates and Mark Skaife will helm almost 40 hours of coverage across the four days of F1 and Supercars racing for Fox Sports, dipping into Sky's coverage for Formula 1.
"I'm looking forward to the unique atmosphere, some brilliant racing, a fourth DRS zone to help things along."
As one of the global voices of Formula 1, it's natural that Croft has the need for speed.
He reveals that despite countless trips to Australia, this year's event will feature his first ever guest lap in a Supercar.
"I'm really, really looking forward to a lap that I'm going to get on the Thursday."
"I actually get to go in a Supercar with Will Davison, which is going to be just mega."
"It's my first time in a Supercar, my first time going around Albert Park in anything other than my trainers to be honest."
"That'll be a lot faster than I normally do."
The Fox Sports broadcast of the Australian Grand Prix begins on Thursday 30 March, with Croft to commentate the Formula 1 Rolex Australian Grand Prix from 1.30pm on Sunday 2 April.
