Pradel finished second in race one and third in race two, completing his record of six podiums across the championship’s eight races.

From Sydney, Pradel ended the season as rookie champion and runner-up in the overall standings behind Polish driver Kacpe Sztuka, who dominated the opening three rounds with five race victories.

Pradel was one of two drivers selected to represent the Asia-Pacific in the Ferrari Driver Academy Scouting Finals last October in Maranello, and now begins his preparations for the Italian Formula 4 Championship, which begins at Imola in April.

The Formula Winter Series (FWS) is a Spanish-backed Formula 4 series designed to provide racing opportunities in Europe, during the European off-season.

“The debut season of the Formula Winter Series knew how to thrill with exciting races, as we also experienced this weekend here in Barcelona,” said FWS project manager Robin Selbach.

“We have already had some good discussions for the 2023/2024 season and we are confident about the future of the racing series.”

“We are currently assuming that our starting field will continue to grow.”
