The Maserati MSG driver was fastest on day one and went faster again on Wednesday afternoon, setting a time of 1:25.449 around the Valencia circuit.

Kiwi Nick Cassidy was the first out of the blocks following the full race simulation, with Antonio Felix da Costa posting the first representative lap with a time of 1:30.755 just over half an hour into the session.

Guenther’s Maserati teammate Edoardo Mortara dipped his toe with the next best lap, before Stoffel Vandoorne picked up the pace for new team DS PENSKE.

It was Guenther who returned to the track in the second half of the session, going faster than the rest of the field and beating his previous attempts from Tuesday.

Stoffel Vandoorne was second-fastest, with Norman Nato third for Nissan.

The Formula E field returns to the Circuit Ricardo Tormo on Thursday for a single session, with a final two sessions on Friday.
