Hugh Barter secures two Spanish F4 victories on appeal
Hugh Barter has had two Spanish F4 race victories reinstated after his team successfully appealed disqualification.
Barter, along with his five teammates, had been excluded from the Navarra round of the championship after it was found mechanics had added an additional grill to their cars.
Campos Racing said the addition was to "prevent radiators from any potential damage," believing it to be within the scope of the regulations and adding nothing in performance.
The Royal Spanish Automobile Federation's Appeal and Disciplinary Board heard the propose and decided in favour of the team.
Campos says the board highlighted "that the wording of several articles included in the Sporting and Technical rulebooks may be contradictory."
The Australian claimed victory in races one and two, with teammate and series champion Nikola Tsolov finishing second and third in each respectively.
Tsolov and Campos had already claimed the drivers' and teams' titles, but the decision brings Barter back into the Vice-Championship race.
The Japanese-Australian driver now has a 56-point lead with just 72 points remaining in the series finale at Barcelona.
The Spanish F4 championship concludes 12-13 November at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
