Alpine congratulate Oscar Piastri on FIA Formula 2 title

Alpine Racing have congratulated their academy driver Oscar Piastri on his 2021 FIA Formula 2 title.

"He possesses speed, racecraft, maturity and has huge potential for the future."

Renault signed Piastri to their junior academy after he took out the 2019 Formula Renault Eurocup.

The team and academy rebranded to Alpine to align with the French manufacturer's racing brand, and most recently announced Piastri as their reserve driver for 2022.

"He is a valuable member of the Alpine team and we are looking forward to putting more of his talent into Formula 1 now in the next natural progression in his journey," said Rossi.
