Champion Joey Mawson returns to S5000 for Tasman Series

Australian Drivers’ Champion Joey Mawson will return to the S5000 field for the 2021 Tasman Series.

Mawson will lead Team BRM’s lineup for the seven-race series, with his teammates to be announced.

Team boss Mark Rundle relishes the chance to take two bites at the S5000 apple in 2021.

“We’re excited to have Joey back,” said Rundle.

“He’s a huge talent as we saw earlier this year and his performances throughout the championship were really impressive, especially given he came into it without any testing, or any plans to do more than the opening round, when he began.”

“If anything the Tasman Series field is stronger than the Australian Drivers’ Championship was earlier this year but we know both the team and Joey are more than up to the challenge.”

The S5000 Tasman Series kicks off at Sydney Motorsport Park with a test session on November 18, with three races in Sydney before the Bathurst International
