Supercheap Auto to sponsor S5000, TCR

Automotive store Supercheap Auto will hold naming rights to the TCR Australia Series in a five-year deal that also includes partner status in the S5000 Australian Drivers Championship.

The Australian Racing Group, promoter of the Touring Car Racing (TCR) and S5000 series, amongst other racing categories, announced the agreement with the high-profile motorsport sponsor ahead of the Boost Mobile Race Tasmania event, set to take place 24-26 January at Symmons Plains Raceway.

Supercheap have a 25-year history of supporting Australian motorsport, including a long-running title sponsorship of the Supercars Bathurst 1000 event, which was terminated this year in favour of competitor Repco.

TCR Australia launched in 2019 before securing carsales.com.au as a title sponsor.

For five years commencing in 2021, the series will be known as the Supercheap Auto TCR Australia Series.

The 2021 series will comprise of six rounds, with every race televised by the Seven Network.

The Super Retail Group brand will also partner the S5000 Australian Drivers Championship.
