Mark Webber proud of “special moment” in Oscar Piastri’s FIA Formula 3 victory

Mark Webber, F1 driver-turned-manager, said he was delighted to see newly-signed Oscar Piastri take out the opening race of the 2020 FIA F3 season. 

"What an incredible Formula 3 debut for Oscar,” said the former Red Bull driver. “It's been challenging times for everybody over the past few months, so this is a special moment for him.”

"Oscar was quick in practice, good in qualifying, and he had a brilliant first lap with decisive moves at the first corner. From there he controlled the race very clinically to the chequered flag.

"I'm very proud of him, and he and Prema have got the championship off to a very nice start."

Webber signed Piastri to his company, Jam Sports Management, in March this year.

Jam Sports Management was founded by Webber and his wife and manager Ann with respected sports and corporate CEO Jason Allen.
