Toyota Racing Series announces details of first replacement race

After cancelling two races at Teretonga last week due to concerns over gale force winds, the Castrol Toyota Racing Series (TRS) has announced the details for the first of the two rescheduled races.

Toyota Racing New Zealand announced on Wednesday that the reverse grid race will be held on Friday afternoon at Hampton Downs at 4.25pm, immediately after Friday Practice.

Each TRS weekend comprises of three races, the second of which is a reverse grid top six from the first race, and the third race is the feature race for the weekend.

Japanese driver Kazuto Kotaka will start on pole, with Austrian Lucas Auer next to him on the front row of the grid.

A Toyota Racing New Zealand spokesperson also confirmed that the remaining qualifying session and race lost at Teretonga “will now be included in the schedule for the fourth round of the series, which takes place at the Bruce McLaren Motorsport Park, Taupo, over the weekend of February 2nd and 3rd.”
