New fan zones for Australian Grand Prix
The Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix has announced new fan precincts for 2022 as part of the event's COVID-safe plan
The event will be split into five separate fan precincts, with attendees able to move between each zone.
Each area will showcase a particular Victorian region to stimulate regional tourism and investment in the state.
The new precincts include Melbourne, Phillip Island, Grampians, Yarra Valley, and the Great Ocean Road.
"There is an incredible sense of excitement and anticipation ahead of the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix 2022," said AGPC General Manager - Marketing and experience, Arthur Gillion.
"These new fan precincts will not only showcase our wonderful state, but they will also provide a brand-new way to experience April's event."
Speaking to Speedcafe, AGPC CEO Andrew Westacott said the plans meant that a minimum of 50,000 fans would be able to attend per day.
Pre-sale tickets for the Grand Prix go on sale November 23 before general admission opens on December 2.
