Mitch Evans eager to continue Formula E momentum in "second home" Monaco
Mitch Evans is eager to continue his Formula E winning streak in this weekend's Monaco E-Prix.
The Jaguar TCS Racing driver lives in Monaco and has performed well at home in the past, with pole and second place in last year's E-Prix, and third the year before.
“It is an amazing feeling racing in Monaco and it is even more special being able to call it a second home race for me – as there is no race in New Zealand,” said Evans.
This year it could represent even more for the Kiwi, on his way back up the championship standings after a pair of victories in São Paulo and Berlin.
“After success in São Paulo and Berlin, I am so motivated to deliver another incredible performance this weekend.”
“It's a track I've done well at in the past, finishing third in season seven and second in season eight so I’ll be giving it everything on Saturday.”
The positive momentum is not just limited to Evans, with Jaguar celebrating a podium lockout in Brazil as well as their first ever one-two finish in Germany.
“I am immensely proud of the team’s performance in Berlin,” said team principal James Barclay.
“To achieve our first one-two was an amazing achievement and demonstrated the hard work that all of the team have been putting into driving forward our performance.”
“As always Monaco is a challenging circuit and the race will be a strategic affair where we have to make the right decisions at the right time but it goes without saying the team and Mitch and Sam can’t wait to get stuck in.”
Round nine of the 2023 ABB FIA Formula E championship takes place on this weekend in Monaco, with the E-Prix at 10.30pm on Saturday (AEST).
