The lead driver in the drivers' standings following the 2023 ROKiT F4 British Championship Certified by FIA will complete a half-day session at the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula 1 campus in Brackley.

“On behalf of Motorsport UK and the British F4 Championship I’d like to thank Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 for this generous contribution," said Motorsport UK CEO Hugh Chambers.

"We are very much about development of our drivers and this prize is a great step in their career."

"We know that our F4 championship helps to give drivers the skills they need to succeed as evidenced by having three drivers in F1 already and more heading through the ranks of Formula 2 and Formula 3."

The F4 champion will receive a pre-session briefing from the team before a full driving programme with feedback and coaching, before completing the day with a post-session debrief.

The simulator session is in addition to other prizes in partnership with F1 teams, as well as 12 Super Licence points for the series title.

The winning driver will be embedded with McLaren Racing for the British Grand Prix, and receive a year-long coaching programme from the Alpine F1 team.

At least eighteen drivers are already confirmed for the 2023 British F4 season, including Aussies Jimmy Piszcyk and Patrick Heuzenroeder, and Kiwi Louis Sharp.

"The grid is looking to be very strong this year so it will be interesting to watch the battle for the title," said Palmer.

The season begins 22-23 April at Donington Park.
