Matthew Brabham jokes about "blowing the cobwebs out" at Indy Lights test
Aussie Matthew Brabham couldn’t hide his excitement to return to the Indy Lights paddock in Indianapolis.
“It's so good to be back at the IMS,” he said.
He is a veteran on the American open-wheel scene, despite only being 27 years-old.
He claims the best record of any Australian on the Road To Indy ladder, but was the first to joke about his return.
“It feels a little weird, especially for me coming back.”
“There's a few memes online making fun of my age and such.”
“I'm just having a blast.”
Brabham took the test as an opportunity to refamiliarise himself with the Indy Lights machinery after his Stadium Super Trucks campaigns and foray into S5000.
“It's been so long, and I've just got to blow the rust off, blow the cobwebs out, and it's been so much fun.”
“Getting up to speed, working my way up to it.”
“Big thank you to Andretti Autosport for throwing me in here this weekend.”
Stablemate Hunter McElrea was third fastest, while Benjamin Pedersen topped the timesheets over the two-day test.
