Lochie Hughes holds Formula 4 USA lead at Road America
Lochie Hughes has held his lead of the Formula 4 USA standings after a consistent second round at Road America.
Hughes qualified on pole and started the weekend with a podium in race one, battling throughout with Matt Christensen for the lead of the race.
Christensen came out on top after multiple laps of pressure, but Hughes held on for second and his third podium of the year.
The second race saw a pair of battles at the front as a five-car pack fought for the podium positions.
Christensen dueled with Noah Ping throughout the race but was able to secure back-to-back victories, while Bryson Morris, Lochie Hughes, and Alex Berg were almost inseparable in the battle for the final podium position.
The trio was only separated by 0.083 seconds at the line, with Berg completing the podium ahead of Hughes and Morris.
Race three saw a change for the lead as Noah Ping led lights-to-flag, with Hughes earning valuable points in his second fourth-place finish of the weekend.
Hughes holds the lead of the series on 95 points, ahead of Christensen, promoted to second on 87 points with his two wins and a podium at Road America.
The Formula 4 United States championship returns 23-26 June in Ohio for the third of six rounds.
