Kayo Sports announces multi-year broadcast extension with Formula 1 on eve of Australian Grand Prix
The Australian sports streamer will continue as the home as Formula One, but would not be drawn on the length of the deal.
Kayo Sports will continue as the home of Formula 1 in Australia, with the streamer today announcing a multi-year extension of its contract to broadcast the sport.
A spokesperson for the Foxtel Group, which owns Kayo, would not comment on the length on the deal.
The announcement was made during an event at the global F1 Exhibition in Melbourne on the eve of the Australian Grand Prix.
“Kayo Sports is Australia’s sport leader with the best live sport, and our Formula 1 extension further cements our position as the premier destination for both local and international motorsport,” said Foxtel Group CEO Patrick Delany.
“This extension continues our commitment to growing the sport and strengthening Australians’ connection to Formula 1. We are partners in growth, and for more than a decade we’ve proudly supported the sport’s momentum, bringing fans closer to the action every season. That shared ambition continues to deliver results, with engagement reaching new heights and the 2025 season becoming our most watched season ever.
“We’re pleased to continue delivering comprehensive Formula 1 coverage to our subscribers, with every race live in 4K, alongside our popular F1 Minis, giving Australians the most comprehensive coverage of the sport. And with racing shown ad-break free, fans won’t miss a single moment.”
Kayo now covers every race of Supercars, Formula One, MotoGP, the Australian Rally Championship, Shannons Speed Series, NASCAR, GT World Challenge, and World Superbike Championships.
While the F1TV app will continue to be integrated in Foxtel set top boxes for domestic customers, no new announcements were made, including any progress on bringing the full F1TV experience to Kayo subscribers. F1TV content was promised to all Foxtel and Kayo subscribers in 2022.
