SAKHIR–AIX Racing driver Joshua Dürksen was disqualified after finishing third in the FIA Formula 2 sprint race in Bahrain after a technical infringement.
A part of the Paraguayan's diffusor was found to be below the minimum height, with the stewards disqualifying him from the race.
A strake, or vertical element in the car's diffusor, was found to be 7mm shorter than the required height in the single-make series, exceeding the 5mm tolerance permitted by the series' regulations.
Dürksen not only loses his third-place finish but his lead of the standings, with Dino Beganovic moving into the final podium position.
Richard Verschoor moves into the lead of the championship on 13 points after his second-place finish, with Pepe Martí and Leonardo Fornaroli tied on 11 points, and Dürksen now fourth position.
