Jack Doohan hopeful after Formula 2 in-season test
Invicta Virtuosi driver Jack Doohan is hopeful for a return to form after the Formula 2 in-season test in Barcelona.
The Australian previously said a “fundamental issue” with the car has been holding back his performance in the Formula 2 championship.
With the series to follow Formula 1 for all three weeks of the upcoming triple-header, Doohan is confident that the team has ironed out the issues at the in-season test last week in Barcelona.
“I am looking forward to Imola, it is a historic track and a really special place to race,” said Doohan.
“I am happy to have had three days of testing in Barcelona to get everything sorted and get back to where I know we can be.”
The #14 driver was fastest on days one and two of the test before Frenchman Theo Pourchaire went fastest overall on the final day.
“We will be ready to kick-start everything in Imola ahead of the triple header.”
“The weather looks like it will be a bit mixed and I can’t wait to get back out on track racing again.”
The weather is a major concern for the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix, with a “red warning” in place on Tuesday and flooding impacting the Formula 2 and Formula 3 paddocks at the Imola circuit.
