Jack Doohan crashes out in Monaco F2 feature race
Jack Doohan has crashed out of the Monaco F2 feature race, with the race suspended as repairs are made to the barriers.
Doohan was running in the lead group when he clipped the wall at the swimming pool chicane on lap 21.
With damage to his front wing, the Alpine junior continued around the circuit before losing control at the entrance to Casino Square.
He suffered heavy damage to the rear after hitting the barriers twice: once on the entry to the corner and once near the exit.
Doohan’s stricken Invicta Virtuosi Formula 2 car then caught fire as following drivers had to take avoiding action.
The Formula 2 feature race was red-flagged while the Armco barrier was repaired, with Frederik Vesti holding the lead.
