Handful of drivers penalised after Formula 3 Silverstone sprint
A handful of drivers have been penalised following the FIA Formula 3 sprint race at Silverstone.
Nikita Bedrin, Mari Boya, Oliver Gray, Roberto Faria, and Taylor Barnard were all penalised by the stewards following Saturday’s action.
Jenzer Motorsport driver Nikita Bedrin was given a five-second penalty for exceeding track limits, dropping to 18th in the final results.
MP Motorsport’s Mari Boya was given three penalties for excessive track limits violations, taking a five-second penalty then a ten-second penalty before being slapped with a drive-through penalty, which was converted to a twenty-second penalty after the race. Boya drops from 21st to 29th in the final classification.
Oliver Gray was awarded a five-second penalty for track limits, dropping from 22nd to 25th, with Roberto Faria copping the same but keeping his position in 27th.
Taylor Barnard was given a ten-second penalty for causing a collision after taking out race leader Sebastián Montoya at the late race restart.
The Jenzer driver remains in 30th after finishing at the rear of the grid.
