SHANGHAI–Ferrari drivers Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton, as well as Alpine driver Pierre Gasly have been disqualified from the 2025 Chinese Grand Prix.

The cars of Leclerc and Gasly were found to be underweight following the race, while Hamilton's car had excessive damage to the skid block.

While Leclerc suffered damage to his front wing during the race, the FIA stewards said that his car weighed 799.0 kg even with a replacement part, under the limit of 800 kg required by the F1 regulations. Gasly's car was also found to weigh 799.0 kg.

Meanwhile, the rear skid plank of Lewis Hamilton's Ferrari was found to have worn down to a height less than the minimum required 9mm required by the regulations.

The recorded measurements were 8.6mm on the left-hand side, 8.6mm in the centre, and 8.5mm on the right-hand side.

In all three cases, the respective team acknowledged there were no mitigating circumstances and that each breach was a "genuine error."

Leclerc had finished fifth in the grand prix with Hamilton behind him in sixth. Gasly had narrowly missed out on Alpine's first point of the season when he finished in 11th.

The revised standings mean that while the podium of Oscar Piastri, Lando Norris, and George Russell is unchanged and Max Verstappen remains fourth, Esteban Ocon moves from seventh to fifth, followed by Kimi Antonelli, Alex Albon, Ollie Bearman, Lance Stroll, and Carlos Sainz.
