Formula 2 field pays tribute after death of Dilano Van 'T Hoff
The FIA Formula 2 field held a minute of silence at the Austrian Grand Prix after the death of Dutch driver Dilano Van 'T Hoff.
Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali was joined by Formula 2 and Formula 3 CEO Bruno Michel at the front of the grid as they consoled members of MP Motorsport ahead of the F2 sprint race.
“We are so sad to learn of the passing of Dilano van 't Hoff today at Spa-Francorchamps," said Domenicali.
"Dilano died in pursuit of his dream to reach the pinnacle of motorsport."
"Along with the entire motorsport community, our thoughts are with his family and loved ones.”
Van 'T Hoff was driving for MP Motorsport in the Formula Regional European Championship when he was involved in a multi-car accident at the Belgian circuit.
Domenicali joined senior members of the Dutch team after the tribute, comforting Team Principal Sander Dorsman and Team Manager Jimmy Cotterill.
