FIA rejects Ferrari protest against Red Bull in Monaco
The FIA has rejected a protest lodged by Ferrari against Red Bull in the Monaco grand prix.
Ferrari had complained that both Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez had crossed the line at pit exit in their late-race battle for the lead.
The incident was “noted” during the race but there was no outcome, with Ferrari lodging an official protest as Sergio Perez took victory.
The FIA dismissed both protests, stating that while Max Verstappen had “touched” the line, he did not “cross” it as “to do so it would have needed to have a full wheel to the left of the yellow line.”
Meanwhile, race victor Sergio Perez “did not have any part of its front or rear tyres on the left of the yellow line,” with the FIA stewards declared the protest as unfounded.
