Daniel Ricciardo felt "better" about Bottas contact after seeing replays
Daniel Ricciardo said he felt a lot better about his lap one contact with Valtteri Bottas after seeing a replay of the incident.
"There was definitely a lot going on," said Ricciardo.
"I've just seen a replay now for the first time."
The McLaren driver watched replays of the incident while waiting to be interviewed after the race.
"I still feel bad because the race was done, but let's say I feel, if there could be a way, slightly better now after seeing that."
"I actually look like I locked up before, kinda at the entry point, and I gathered it up again."
"It just looks like Valtteri has come in to close the apex and it's me, Perez, and there's not enough room for all of us."
"It was actually a lot smaller hit than I thought."
Despite his ruined race, Ricciardo was not too disheartened.
"It's the nature of the beast with the sport, and obviously lap one incidents can happen."
"The car's pretty fragile as well so you hit it at the wrong angle, and a lot of things go breaking."
"I think it was obviously looking good for a few hundred metres and it turned around pretty quickly so that was the race, and a long 71 laps after that."
