Daniel Ricciardo excited by "tight midfield fight" at Sochi F1 Grand Prix
Daniel Ricciardo says he is excited by the challenge of the “tight midfield fight” in the Formula 1 grid in the run-up to the Formula 1 VTB Russian Grand Prix at Sochi.
"We want to continue the strong run and score well this weekend,” said the Australian, who has three fourth-place finishes to his name this season.
“We’re in a really tight midfield fight with a number of teams with one or two tenths either way the difference between the second row of the grid or ending outside the top ten.”
“That challenge is exciting, it means we have to find everything from within the car and make it work.”
Ricciardo will be itching to get on the podium, with an outstanding promise from team boss Cyril Abiteboul involving a tattoo.
“We had two fourth places from the last triple header,” he said.
“The target remains to take those big points to keep in the championship fight."
