Arvid Lindblad extends Toyota FR Oceania dominance in Dan Higgins Trophy at Manfeild
The British Red Bull junior dominated in a race that began in wet conditions behind the safety car.
Arvid Lindblad returned to the top step of the Toyota FR Oceania with victory in difficult conditions to win the Dan Higgins Trophy at Manfeild Circuit Chris Amon.
The race began behind the safety car in wet conditions after drivers were challenged under a downpour in the reverse-grid sprint race just hours before.
With a break in the weather, racing resumed and Lindblad was untouchable, taking victory ahead of Nikita Johnson and Australian Patrick Heuzenroeder.
"It was definitely not plain sailing," said the Red Bull junior.
"The last race was difficult with the weather but happy with the result. We need to keep the momentum going."
With the feature race victory, Lindblad maintains the lead of the standings and recovered valuable points lost in the earlier sprint race, now holding a 40-point gap over Kiwi Zack Scoular.
The Castrol Toyota Formula Regional Oceania series now heads to teh South Island, with Teretonga Park in Invercargill to host the penultimate round before the New Zealand Grand Prix concludes the series at Highlands Motorsport Park on 7-9 February.
