Aaron Cameron yet to confirm S5000 future
He took out round one of the S5000 Tasman Series in Sydney, but Aaron Cameron says double-duties may make a title challenge difficult at Bathurst.
Speaking after the feature race at Sydney Motorsport Park, Cameron said his S5000 entry at Bathurst was far from a sure thing.
"I've gotta race TCR at Bathurst, so I assume me, Garry, and Barry, will have a chat either today, or early this week, to see what and if we do the second round."
Cameron is fifth in the Australian TCR standings for Team Valvoline GRM, just 25 points behind second-place Luke King.
The Victorian said the changeover between two vastly-different series would pose the biggest challenge.
"It would be fun," said Cameron, "but obviously the changeover between S5000 and TCR is pretty big going from a high-horsepower rear-wheel-drive to a 2 litre front-wheel-drive, so we'll see what happens."
"I did it at Bathurst this year when we raced there, I raced TCR and Hyundai and we did a quick changeover between races but they were both front-wheel-drive to front-wheel-drive so its quite easier."
"We'll have a chat, and yeah, you never know."
"Maybe you'll see us on the grid."
The TCR Bathurst 400 will feature three 21-lap events across the week of the Bathurst 1000.
S5000 will race four times at the mountain to round out the 2021 Tasman Series.
