2024 Australian Grand Prix race day tickets sell out in two hours
Race day tickets for the 2024 Australian Grand Prix sold out in less than two hours after release on Tuesday.
The ticket allocation for grandstands and general admission has been exhausted on Sunday for the grand prix, with grandstands also sold out for qualifying on Saturday.
The Australian Grand Prix Corporation says over 100,000 people pre-registered for pre-sale on Monday, touted as the biggest pre-registration for a sporting event nationally in Ticketmaster Australia’s history.
Re-sale tickets for the event are limited to 10% above the original value as a declared event under the Victorian Major Events Act 2009, with the potential for further “in-demand” tickets to release closer to the grand prix.
The FIA Formula 2 and Formula 3 series will also return to the track in 2024, with further support series to be confirmed.
“The past two Formula 1 Australian Grands Prix have broken Melbourne attendance records, and next year’s race is set to be bigger than ever. That’s great news for jobs, local businesses and our economy,” said Victorian Minister for Tourism, Sport and Major Events, Steve Dimopoulos.
"We've officially declared next year's Grand Prix as a major event, so race goers will be better protected by ticket scalpers and more fans have the best possible chance of seeing their racing idols compete for the chequered flag.”
