After qualifying 7th and finishing 8th in the season opener in St. Petersburg, Dixon is hungry for the race win in Texas at the XPEL 375.
"Ultimately we're going there to win the race," said the PNC Bank Chip Ganassi Racing #9 driver.
"We've had a great track record there."
The New Zealander has won five times previously at the Texas Motor Speedway, as part of his record that includes the longest streak of consecutive Indycar seasons with a race victory.
Dixon has the most wins at the track by an Indycar driver.
"I think I'll be going for my sixth win in Texas which would be really sweet, and of course, one of the best winner's circle areas in Indycar racing, and probably most racing."
"The goal is to shoot those guns and wear that cowboy hat, so let's see."
The NTT Indycar Series XPEL 375 gets underway this weekend 19-20 March on Stan Sport.
