Record 23 entries for British F4 at Thruxton
A record grid of 23 drivers will take to Thruxton this weekend in the F4 British Championship.
The grid hit 22 drivers in the previous round at Snetterton two weeks ago and equalled the series record last weekend and rises again with Mika Abrahams joining after turning 15.
Jaden Pariat also returns from injury, with Matteo de Palo returning after a one-off entry at Snetterton.
“It’s great to finally welcome Mika to the grid,” said Eve Lake-Grange, category manager.
“He has been testing with us for several months but was unable to race until he turned 15. We have known from before the start of the season that our grid was growing, and with Mika’s debut, Matteo’s entry and Jaden’s clearance we have set a new record.”
“Already we have bettered any season by being above 20 entries for every race so far, and consistent numbers in that region gives us a stronger championship. A record 23 is just great for everyone – the fans, the teams and the drivers.”
Kiwi Louis Sharp leads the championship after two victories in round one at Donington Park, but the series is wide open, with six different race winners so far including Australian Noah Lisle.
Race one is underway at 1.15am Sunday (AEST) with audio commentary available on the ROKit British F4 Championship website, with races two and three at 9pm Sunday and 1.30am Monday respectively, both live on ITV (requires VPN).
