Christian Mansell takes first points as three Formula 3 drivers disqualified
Christian Mansell has been awarded his first FIA Formula 3 championship points after the three MP Motorsport cars were disqualified from the Melbourne sprint race.
The Australian crossed the line twelfth after holding his own in the difficult sprint race and gaining one position.
Mansell takes home two points for finishing ninth plus one point for the fastest lap.
“We got POINTS baby!” he tweeted late on Saturday.
He’ll have another chance for points when the FIA Formula 3 grid returns for the feature race at 9.05am Sunday (AEST).
