"I’m feeling pretty good for my home race," said the Australia.

"I think it’s going to be an awesome experience to race at home and racing in front of an Aussie crowd is going to be something I’ve never experienced before."

"To see fans that follow what you’re doing around the rest of the world and then be able to come back into my home country and have their support, is going to be an amazing experience."

Doohan revealed that he has never raced in Australia before, making the Albert Park debut even more momentous.

"For me, it's going to be one of those special races of the year like Monaco or the final round in Abu Dhabi, but I think it's important to treat it like any other race.

Despite the occasion, Doohan says he won't let it affect his focus.

"I don’t think I feel any pressure."

"I think it’s the opposite for me."

"I’m going to embrace the home support and really take it all in. I feel even more myself at home."

"I’m on home soil and I’ve got a home crowd so for me it’s the opposite."

"I’m going to go out and show that I’m where I’m supposed to be."

The Invicta Virtuosi Racing driver will be the fan favourite during the FIA Formula 2 weekend, with qualifying underway at 5.30pm on Friday before the sprint race at 2.20pm on Saturday, and the feature race at 11:35am on Sunday.
