Kush Maini fastest on final day of Formula 2 pre-season test

Kush Maini was fastest on the final day of the FIA Formula 2 pre-season test in Bahrain.

A late burst of one-lap sprints gave Maini a lap of 1:42.623 ahead of Roy Nissany and Théo Pourchaire.

Ralph Boschung was fastest in the morning session, setting the fastest lap of 1:45.063 eight minutes into the test as teams completed preparations for the 2023 season.

Clément Novalak was second-fastest with Victor Martins third, as Aussie Jack Doohan set the ninth-fastest time of the early running.

The long runs complete, some of the times set about finding the true pace of their 2023 machinery in the closing moments of the three days running, clocking up 15 hours total track time.

The order at the end of the day was Maini, Nissany, and Pourchaire, with Doohan 19th-fastest.

The 2023 FIA Formula 2 season begins in Bahrain 3-5 March.
