Australian Formula Ford standout James Piszcyk heads to British F4
James Piszcyk will make the move from Adelaide to compete in the 2023 F4 British Championship.
The Australian Formula Ford driver was leading the series before the final event of the season, but chose instead to travel to the UK and begin his testing programme with series stalwarts Hitech GP.
“It’s a great opportunity for me to race in a championship as strong as ROKiT British F4, and join the championship-winning Hitech GP team,” said Piszcyk.
“It’s going to be great to battle and challenge a competitive grid of drivers, and I’m really excited to embark on my next chapter in racing.”
Piszcyk left the Formula Ford Australian series wide open with his departure in October, with CHE Racing team owner Cameron Hill “really disapppointed” by the decision.
“James and our team have worked very hard to get into this position, and to learn that our leading driver would not contest the last round is crushing.”
Despite the move, Hill remains supportive of Piszcyk.
“Myself and the whole CHE Racing Team wish James the absolute best with his future endeavours.”
“I really want to see him succeed in the future, and I hope the direction he has elected to take serves him well.”
Piszcyk will begin his time with Hitech at a non-championship round of the United Arab Emirates Formula 4 at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix later this month.
The ten-event, thirty-race ROKiT F4 British Championship begins at Donington Park on 22-23 April 2023.
